The character has been a prominent member of superhero teams such as the Defenders and the Illuminati in Marvel Comics. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Doctor Strange is portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch, appearing in films like "Doctor Strange" (2016), "Thor: Ragnarok" (2017), "Avengers: Infinity War" (2018), and "Avengers: Endgame" (2019).
